Best States To Drive In Report

In order to take a deep dive and do which states have the best commuting conditions, WalletHub analyzed a few different factors.

  1. Cost of Ownership & Maintenance
  2. Traffic & Infrastructure
  3. Safety
  4. Access to Vehicles & Maintenance

Each one of the factors was evaluated on 31 different metrics.

Those metrics were then scored on a 100-point scale, with 100 being the best.

The states were then ranked based on their overall weighted scores.

Data was collected from the US Census Bureau, FBI, and NHTSA.
