A Popular Holiday Tradition Returns To Great Falls
A highly anticipated holiday tradition in Great Falls is about to return.
This tradition offers up some of the best light displays in town and allows for good-hearted competition.
Candy Cane Lane Great Falls, Montana
Ultimately, Candy Cane Lane is a light viewing event where visitors can grab a map, drive around the City of Great Falls, and check out Christmas lights.
The event officially kicks off on December 14th at Jaycee Park.
Free hot chocolate will be provided at the kickoff event.
All the proceeds from the event benefit Montana CommUNITY Matters, a local non-profit dedicated to supporting the community.

Anyone is welcome to participate in Candy Cane Lane.
Channel your holiday spirit and put on your best Clark Griswold Christmas light display.

Grinchville vs. Abominable Town
Little did you know there's quite the battle involved with Candy Cane Lane here in Great Falls.
- Grinchville
- The northwest part of town (CMR side)
- Abominable Town
- Southeast side (GFH side)
The neighborhood with the most decorated homes will be crowned the winner and take home the traveling trophy—a unique leg lamp from the classic movie A Christmas Story (It’s a major award!).

In 2023, Grinchville took the trophy for the most decorated homes, but who will claim the prize this year? Here are the top three winners of 2023:
- 1st Place: 152 Skyline Dr. NE (Note: The family has since moved away)
- 2nd Place: 1 Rock Quarry Ln
- 3rd Place: 3928 13th Ave S.
