If you've ever sniffed around my author page, you could probably tell that I am a huge supporter of law enforcement. And why wouldn't I be?

Cascade County Detention Center Offers a Rare Look Behind-The-Scenes

Recently, Cascade County Sheriff's Office premiered a documentary showcasing life as a detention officer in the Cascade County Detention Center.

In the video, we meet different officers who share their experiences becoming detention officers. It's an awesome close-up look at what these men and women encounter and could potentially encounter every day.

What I really loved about the 5 or so minute doc is how you can hear the officers evolve their narratives.

Their stories begin subtly, with all of them sharing they didn't know what to expect and even experiencing some nervousness about the job. As the doc goes on, we start to hear their experiences and reflections about working as detention officers evolve.

These stories of uncertainty, and arguably a little self-doubt, morphed into tales of triumph, perseverance, and a display of the exact resilient characteristics that Cascade County Detention Center needs.

Cascade County Detention Center Wants YOU

It's hard to not be motivated to want to do something to support our detention center after watching the short doc. For those who are fired up and are considering entering the world of corrections, there's an event coming up just for you.

"Detention officers are essential to the safety and operation of our facility, and we are looking for people who want to step into a role that truly matters," Sheriff Slaughter said in a press release.

According to the press release, a hiring event will be taking place on Saturday, April 11th at 8 AM at Cascade County Sheriff's Office at 3800 Ulm North Frontage Road in Great Falls.

This is a special event because unlike the normal hiring and on-boarding process, this event will fast-track the entire process in a single day. That means you'll need to be ready to spend the entire day completing screenings, interviews, testing, physical exams, medical evaluation, etc.

Being able to accomplish all of this in a single day is extremely rare according to Sheriff Slaughter.

"This is a chance for someone in our community to walk in ready to compete for the job and potentially leave with a career opportunity," said Sheriff Slaughter.
