Could Montana Handle $6 Dollar Per Gallon Gas?
I'm sure you're probably tired of hearing about my recent vacation to Hawaii.
But while exploring the island of Kauai, I experienced many different things that, in my opinion, make great article topics.
One of the craziest things about life in the Hawaiian Islands is the gas price!
There are no oil wells in Hawaii, so needless to say, all the fuel has to be hauled in by boat.
With oil prices the way they are, when you add the shipment cost to the mix, the gas price quickly becomes out of hand!

Price of Gas in Hawaii
While we were on the island of Kauai, I was shocked to see that gas was over five dollars a gallon at many stations.
I get why it is so expensive, but my first thought was, how in the world can people survive with this expense?
There is less driving in Hawaii than in a state like Montana, but even so, that kind of price adds up quickly!

Gas Prices in Montana
Given that a good chunk of Montana's economy is driven by agriculture, mining, and tourism, gas is a key element in that equation!
If the gas prices in the Treasure State were to be anywhere near as steep as Hawaii, all three of these industries would feel the pinch.
I can't fathom that our key industries would be able to keep their heads above water with six dollar a gallon gas!
