FIRE & BURN WARNING: Defective Cooking Pans Sold in Montana Stores
One of life's most essential skills is the ability to cook. Not everyone can do it well and that's okay, but you gotta know how to fire up a pan and sizzle up something edible.
That said, you have to make sure you practice good safety habits and have working equipment.
Oh yeah, about that last part...
Popular and Widely Used Sauté Pan is Being Recalled
Yeah, imagine trying to learn how to flip a pancake only for the handle to detach, sending a scorching hot piece of metal potentially flying toward your face.
Or maybe you're whipping up some stir fry when the pan breaks, and you get hot, burning oil all over your face.
Shoot, or maybe you're just moving some stir fry or something around on the pan when the handle detaches and somehow, you start a massive fire, losing everything you own in the process... all because a handle detached from your sauté pan.

But I digress - you get where I'm going with this.
Recently, E Mishan announced a recall on their Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Stainless Sauté Pans. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, "the metal cap on the screw that connects the sauté pan to the handle can become detached and forcefully eject when heated, posing impact and burn hazards to consumers."
Yikes!
Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Recall Details
First things first, you should stop using this pan immediately. Don't set your home on fire and lose everything own over trying to sear a steak on this thing.
As for injuries, I wish I could say there are none but according to Consumer Product Safety Commission, "E Mishan is aware of at least 98 incidents where the metal cap detached and ejected from the pan, including one report where a consumer received bruising and burn injuries."
These pans were also sold practically everywhere.
According to the report, these pans were sold "in stores at Costco and online at Costco.com, Walmart.com, and Amazon.com from August 2021 through February 2026 for about $40."
