Deputy name released

Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter has now released the name of the sheriff's deputy that shot and killed a man last Saturday in Great Falls. He is 11-year veteran Brandt Olsen. He remains on Administrative Leave, which is standard procedure, as the investigation continues.

Olsen was questioning 34-year-old Travis Sipes at a traffic stop when Sipes reportedly pointed a gun at the deputy who fired, killing Sipes.

The shooting took place near Seventh Avenue South and 14th Street. Great Falls police are conducting the investigation.
