If you want to see the ladies dolling up some calves you will want to be in Cascade Montana on Friday August 12th, 2022.  If you like it Wild and Western then Saturday August 13th, is your day.

The Cascade PRCA Rodeo is this weekend and will be the 8th showing with the current rodeo committee.  The Chesnut Valley Arena, located at 110 Mormon Rd, Cascade, MT is the location for the rodeo.  Friday’s activities include Mutton Bustin starting at 6:30 PM and Rodeo action starting at 7.  The ladies take center stage during the intermission and show how much grit they have as they work over some calves to dress them up.  Don’t be fooled, these ladies are not scared to get dirty and can tangle with the best of them.  This is the second year in a row for this event and it was a hit last year!  Once the rodeo ends around 9 pm, head into Cascade where there will be a street dance mixed with a lot of fun.

Saturday is a full day starting early with breakfast at the Cascade Senior Center from 7-11 am.  At noon is when the parade will begin down 1st street followed by a BBQ from 1-4 pm at the Railroad Park.  That will give you just enough time to relax before heading to the Arena for the Calcutta at 5. Once again Mutton Bustin is 6:30 with the rodeo to start at 7.   Do not leave early because the Wild and Western McLintock Ride kicks off at the end of the rodeo.

The McLintock is 6 rough riding broncs with riders dressed up in whatever crazy costume they can muster all turned out at the same time.  The last rider remaining wins it all.  This has been going on for several years and has loose ties to John Wayne’s McLintock character and movie.  The stories you will tell on Monday morning will make all of your co-workers wish they were there.  Make your way into Cascade to end the evening with another street dance.

You will have so much fun while making a life time of memories that you will want to come back next year.  So, mark your calendar for August 11th and 12th, 2023 to do it all over again.
