Will Great Falls See A White Christmas This Year?

It's hard to believe but Christmas is already around the corner and it's almost time to leave cookies out for Santa.

It's part of the magic of Christmas and there's nothing more magical than a having the chance to enjoy a "White Christmas."

The Magic Of A "White Christmas" In Great Falls

Christmas is already a magical holiday but I think most of us would agree it's a little bit more special when we have that cold white stuff falling from the sky, especially for families.

If you have kids like I do, you might agree that there's nothing quite like going outside on Christmas morning after opening presents for a little snowball fight. Couple those experiences with the ambience of a snowy backdrop paired with a decorated Christmas tree and you have the memory of a lifetime.

But, will we get that extra piece of holiday magic when Christmas arrives on the 25th?

What Will Great Falls Look Like On Christmas Day?

As we all know, Montana weather can be unpredictable and change at a moment's notice so we'll use data from various sources, not just one.

First, we'll look at AccuWeather which predicts a Christmas Day high of 24 degrees and a subtle chance at "precipitation" which they currently have at 30% (as of Wednesday, December 3rd) with "0.00 inches" expected.

The folks over at The Weather Channel don't have any precipitation predictions at the time of this writing but are calling for a high of 35 with a low of 15. Over at Weather Shogun, however, they're calling for a 30% chance of precipitation with a high of 23 and a low of 1.

As for the Farmer's Almanac, which has a single prediction for December 18th through the 31st, the forecast calls for sunshine, isolated rain or snow showers, and "quite warm."

So, will we get snow on Christmas Day? Only time will tell...
