Great Falls Family Fishing Day

Nothing says summer in Montana quite like a good old-fashioned fishing trip.

After all, we have epic fishing holes around the area.

The Missouri River is in our own backyard, Wadsworth Pond, and numerous other creeks and streams.

But if you're looking to kick off the summer season on the right foot, Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks offers a family fishing day at Wadsworth Pond Park in Great Falls.

Learn To Fish In Great Falls

According to Montana Fish Wildlife in Parks, this event is generally one of the largest fishing clinics in the state.

The event will feature a series of educational stations focusing on everything from identification to knot tying, casting, and fly tying.

Following that, open fishing is available for all who attend.

Any youth who takes part and completes all the educational stations is eligible for free fishing gear donated by the Great Falls Chapter of Walleyes Unlimited (limited supplies).

The ultimate goal of the family fishing to teach basic fishing skills and encourage folks to get out and explore the great outdoors.
