Great Falls Americans Hockey Needs Host Families

One of the biggest lessons I've learned since being in Great Falls is how tight-knit this community is. Seriously - so many people here look out for each other, no matter where you're at.

Now, the Great Falls Americans hockey team are calling upon the community to put that sense of community on display in support of their team.

Great Falls Americans Looking for Host Families

The Great Falls Americans recently shared an announcement calling on the public's assistance for housing players ahead of the upcoming season.

"The Great Falls Americans of the North American 3 Hockey League’s (NA3HL) are currently seeking prospective families or individuals that are interested in hosting players for the upcoming 2026-27 junior hockey season," the team said in a press release.

"The Americans coaching staff recruits talented junior hockey players that with great potential can play collegiately and beyond that come from all over the United States and internationally to display their skills at this level before committing to college teams."

"In order for them to take advantage of this amazing opportunity, the players need families willing to share their homes and become a 'home away from home' as they pursue their hockey dreams. The billet family experience is immeasurable."

According to a press release we received by email, players range between the ages of 16 and 20 years old and need a stable home.

Players come from all over the world and families who host a player will welcome the player in their homes from September through the end of March or early April.

According to the press release, "Players DO NOT pay rent as they become 'one of the family.'"

What Do Host Families Need to Provide and What Do Host Families Get?

Families will need to be able to provide the player their own bedroom, snacks, and meals available for either you or them to prepare.

If you're generous enough to host two players, they can share a room, but will each need their own bed.

You'll also get a list of guidelines the players know they have to follow per organization rules. I wouldn't think anyone would have much to worry about and to make it a little easier, hosting families get a monthly stipend of $400 per player, up to two players in the home.
