A 25 year old Great Falls man has been charged with raping a woman back on January 30.  Andy Lopez was arrested late last week and charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent.  The victim, who will remain unidentified called police a short time after the incident at her apartment.

What are the details in the case.

According to court documents, the victim had talked to Lopez on Instagram and Snapchat and they talked for about two weeks before they decided to meet.  She says Lopez came and picked her up, they went for a drive before returning to her apartment in the 2200 block of 24th Avenue South.  They sat together on the couch and watched a movie.  She told police when the movie was over he grabbed her hand and led her into the bedroom where he reportedly raped her.  She says he took off her clothing and forced her onto the bed.  She repeated several times that she did not want to do anything.  He then put on a condom and vaginally raped her.  Before he left she tells police that Lopez tossed the condom into the garbage can, put on his clothes and left.

she then contacted Lopez via a message stating that she was a virgin.  Below is the conversation where he laughs at her.

Victim: “That was my first time.”

- Defendant: “For what a 1 night stand?”

- Victim: “First time ever doing anything – I wasn’t’ trying to have sex - I was trying to get to know you.”

- Defendant: “Haha yeah whatever that was not your first time [laughing emoji].

Lopez is sitting in the county jail on a $150,000 bond.  He faces potential life behind bars.
