Here’s When Great Falls Will Get Its First Snow Of The Season
When it comes to the snow, you either love it or hate it. Some people simply aren’t excited about the idea of having to shovel their driveways or scraping ice off of their cars in the morning… and we can’t blame them!
On the other hand, there are some people who absolutely love Old Man Winter and of the shenanigans he brings with him.
When Will Great Falls Get Its First Snow Of The Winter?
I’ll be honest, I watch winter weather forecasts like a hawk because I’m still learning how to operate in winter weather. Being from South Texas, I don’t have a lot of experience dealing with winter conditions with the exception of the few years I spent in Idaho.
It’s why I’m regularly looking at forecasts this time of year to see how much time I have left to get my act together.
According to KRTV, the first major snowfall of 2024 happened on November 22nd and as we’re all aware, Great Falls gets between 58 and 60 inches of snow a year.

So, when will Great Falls get its first batch of snow this year?
At the time of this publishing, Great Falls is expected to get its first snow day of the season on Sunday, October 19th according to Accuweather’s estimation for the 2025 winter season.
Again, this is simply an estimation and many would agree it’s way too far out to properly (and accurately) make this prediction. Still, it gives both winter lovers and preppers something to keep an eye on as we power through the final weeks of summer.
