So, what's the deal stoners?  For the first time in eight months recreational marijuana sales have dropped.  Perhaps there was a Twinkie shortage or perhaps a Dorito shortage last month that might have led to a drop in sales.

How much marijuana was sold

In October,  $ 19,519,000 was sold and that's $300,000 less than in September statewide.   Medical marijuana has been dropping steadily for the past eight months and now sits at $6, 372,000 in monthly sales. It's lowest point since recreational marijuana sales began.

Another county record

I will say this  for the stoners,  despite the drop statewide they continued to buy in Cascade County.  The county set another record month with over $1,187,000 sold in October.  That's about $30,000 more than in September.  Apparently the stores in Cascade County still had a supply of Twinkies and Doritos in stock.

To date, the state has sold $253,864,557 worth the marijuana this year.  Put that in your pipe and smoke it!  And that amounts to $37,686,535 in state tax revenue with still two months to go in the first year of sales.

This might not come as a surprise to you but the county with the highest sales in October was the states most populated county, Yellowstone county at $3,181,048.  Gallatin County sold the second most at$3,163,418 in recreational marijuana followed by Missoula, at just over $2.6 million.

The sale of recreational marijuana continues to grow in the United States.  The fed's say it is a 25-billion-dollar business with over 40% of the nations adults having access to pot.  Another interesting factor,  during the pandemic regular users say they increased their intake.  Female customers nationwide are up 55% in the last year.
