Dolly Parton has no doubt left her impact on the world of country music. Her legacy will forever be celebrated as one of the best to do it. That said, one of Dolly's proudest accomplishments was being able to put books into the hands of children all across the world with her Imagination Library.

Recently, a child in Butte got to be a part of a milestone that would make Dolly proud.

First Lady of Montana's Partnership with Imagination Library

The First Lady of Montana Susan Gianforte recently stopped by the 560 KMON studios to talk about Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and its impact on students not just across Montana, but the world.

"I just think it's so amazing that she has the Dollywood Foundation mailing three and a half million books every month to five countries," Susan Gianforte said.

"So, it's just it's an honor for us to be a statewide partner with the organization and be able to offer a free book to every child by registering at MontanaImaginationLibrary.org for kids under five."

And one child in Butte just eclipsed a historical milestone that should inspire kids everywhere to pick up a book and turn some pages... real pages, not an e-book!

Butte Child Receives Millionth Book in Montana

According to multiple reports including the Bozeman Daily, 2-year-old Jordyn Balstad of Butte just received the one millionth book distributed through Dolly's Imagination Library, “Coat of Many Colors” by Dolly herself.

That's right, the kids of Montana have powered through one million books.
