IT’S NATIONAL DOG DAY, AUGUST 26TH

With it being National Dog Day today, August 26th,  I thought I would share a few pictures of my dogs.

In the pictures below you will see Lucky (white dog, 10) Cheeks (black lab, 11)  and Feefs (little one, 11).

National Dog Day came about in 2004 by dog trainer Colleen Paige.  She picked August 26th because that was the day her family adopted their first ever dog.  Colleen was ten at the time.  The dogs name was Sheltie and came from the local animal shelter.

National Dog Day celebrates all dogs, mixed breed and pure.  Paige says her group is against any kind of breed ban and that, "dogs should not have to lose their lives because of atrocities they have been forced to endure at the hands of man.
