One Montana City Ranks Among America's Best Places To Retire

Montana has a bit of a love-hate relationship with outsiders.

We love telling everyone how great Montana is, but then we get a little annoyed when someone actually decides to move here.

WalletHub Says These Are Montana's Best Cities For Retirement

The population boom Montana experienced during the pandemic has rubbed some people the wrong way, so maybe rankings like the one we're talking about today will help slow down the flow of newcomers.

When it comes to retirement, WalletHub says there are really only a couple of Montana cities that made the list, and one definitely did better than the other.

Looking at things like affordability, health care, quality of life, and activities for retirees, WalletHub found that Missoula is the 70th best city in America to retire to.

Meanwhile, Billings came in much lower at #136. But honestly, Montana residents might take a little comfort in those rankings when they see where our neighbors came in ranked.

Montana's Neighbors Are Beating Us On Retirement Rankings

Casper, Wyoming, came in as the fifth-best place to retire, while Boise, Idaho, also made the top 20. Even North Dakota and South Dakota had communities rank ahead of both of ours.

And I doubt you'll find many Montanans who are upset about that.

Because every time another city gets named one of the best places to retire, that's potentially a few more people who decide to move there instead of here.

And let's be honest, we've already had plenty of people move to Big Sky Country.
