Montana Rivers Best Entertainment

Great Falls is luckily home to many areas where floating the river is an amazing experience.

There are always people who ruin it for everyone but when you float respectfully you make it fun for everyone.

I've put together some "Rules of the River" that if everyone follows we could make sure our rivers continue to be a good time for all.

Rules Of The River

Rule 1: Get a conservation license

If you are going to be on public state land-which the river is, you need to have a conservation license. You can get them online or even at a sporting goods store when you buy a fishing license but they will be required whether you are a resident or not.

Rule 2: Pack it in Pack it out

Most Montana residents know that if you are recreating you do not want to leave a mess of trash. This applies specifically to the river because while you could let your garbage sink and no one would know, the ecosystem of the river will be forever changed by your decision to litter. DON'T DO IT

Common Sense To Some, News To Others

Rule 3: Don't be a jerk

I say this as a rule because it is so important. If someone is fishing, stay out of their way. If someone is floating peacefully don't have your music blasted to the eardrum bleeding levels. It comes down to respect and making sure everyone has a good time. SO don't be a jerk.

Rule 4: Be safe

If you are out on the river in a boat, kayak or a tube have a blast and be safe. There is life saving equipment out there for a reason. Wear the life jackets, use the appropriate flags and we can continue to use our public river access to enjoy a good time.
