Montana Grizzlies Will Lose Popular Players to NFL Draft
As champions have now been crowned across the collegiate gridiron battlefield, most attention has now been focused on the National Football League as the post season is in full swing.
That doesn't mean that there aren't some major happenings going on behind the scenes in the college ranks. Nick Saban and the Alabama Roll Tide parting ways is a great example. But there are also some major happenings right here in Montana that are making waves.
It Was an Amazing Year for the Montana Grizzly Football Teaman
Even though the season may not have started out as coach Bobby Hauck, the players and Griz Nation fans wanted, it quickly turned around, culminating in a trip to Frisco, Texas against the formidable defending champion South Dakota State University Jackrabbits.
While that effort came up short in the championship game, U of M players have plenty to hold their head high about. And of course, we as fans would love to see them give it the "ole college try" again next year, that may be a little difficult with announcements from players over the weekend.
The Possibility of Greener Turf in NFL Stadiums Calls
Griz Nation will be looking to replace a few key players from this year's squad into next year. Some players may graduate, others have entered into the transfer portal, and in the case of two players, you choose the NFL. And hopefully they choose you.
On Friday, January 12th, Griz safety TraJon Cotton announced that he would not be returning, instead opting to make himself eligible for the upcoming NFL draft. Just two days later, offensive star AJ Forbes also declared himself eligible for the draft.
