New Updates for the Keely Cares Foundation in Belt, Montana

In August of 2024, we reported on a tragedy striking local rodeo and 4-H communities in Belt, Montana.  At the time, a fund was established in Keely Drummond Shearer's name to help families in financial dire straits due to medical bills.

In a recent update from her husband, the surrounding communities, rodeo and 4-H supporters have made a huge impact for the foundation.  In just 5 short months, Wyatt Shearer says the fund has raised over $25,000 dollars since being established in August of 2024.

Shearer also stated in his social media post that:

I would like to thank each and every one for the generosity and support. One of the things about the foundation is we don’t want any recognition or ever make the giving about us. Therefore, I’m not going to be posting the details as to whom or how much is donated from Keely Cares.
All I can say is, I know Keely would be so happy and excited to know all the people this has helped and touched already. We wanted to help people that were going through a hard time and make them aware that someone cares and is on their side.

Tragedy Strikes Montana Rodeo And 4-H Communities

The Montana rodeo and 4-H communities were hit with pretty hard news in the last 24 hours.

In an announcement via social media, it was revealed that former 2018 Miss Teen Rodeo Montana, Keely Drummond Schearer had passed away due to complications from cancer.  Keely was just 23 years old.

A Passion for Helping Starts at a Young Age in Belt, MT

According to the MSU Extension - Cascade County, Keely was a 10-year member of the local Tiger Butte 4-H group, and growing up in Belt, MT allowed her to pursue becoming a grand champion showman with her horses and market sheep.

Keely also was able to pursue her love of rodeo when she was chosen to be the 2018 Miss Teen Rodeo Montana. She traveled across the Big Sky State and became an instant role model to many others and an inspiration to all.

Celebration of Life and a Continuing Legacy for Keely

The celebration of life for Keely will be held at the Belt City Park in the pavilion at 11 a.m. on August 30. The family asks those attending to bring stories about Keely to share.
