Meth is a big problem in Montana, still. Even now, after all these years, it's a huge plague on Big Sky Country.
It's Freakishly Easy To Set Up A Meth Lab
From the Washington State Department of Health:
"A meth lab can be set up using common household equipment and chemicals. The different ways of making meth can involve explosives, solvents, metals, salts, and corrosives. Meth labs have been found in homes, sheds, barns, motel and hotel rooms, outside in the woods, and in car trunks."
Even in car trunks. Wow.

Can You Find Out If There Have Been Meth Labs In Your Montana City or County?
The Montana Department of Environmental Quality has a list of cities, with addresses, of Meth labs found all over Montana sorted by county then by city. The list is pretty disturbing, and eye opening at the same time.
Again, I'm forced to realize that you really never know what people are doing around you. It doesn't matter if you live in a half million dollar house or out of your car, the people next to you could be cooking meth.
I Counted 22 Meth Labs In My Home County
When you go through the list, keep in mind the people cooking this stuff don't take anything into account like explosions, the chemicals released into the neighborhood, or the type of paranoid people that are always popping in and out of the meth dealers place. All they care about is their fix and the cash from the cook.

If you suspect this is going on in your neighborhood, call the police. There is no reason to confront them yourselves. Remember, their brains are tainted by all of those chemicals, and they can be very volatile.
