Some serious allegations have arisen about Montana 2nd Congressional District candidate and State Senator Jonathan Windy Boy with calls for him to drop out of the congressional race.

Now, officials are speaking out against these serious allegations as they're coming out.

Montana Senator Jonathan Windy Boy Expected to Drop Out of Congressional Race

Shocking allegations have come to light regarding Montana Senator Jonathan Windy Boy.

According to initial reports from the Journal LLC, "Montana State Sen. Jonathan Windy Boy is expected to exit the congressional race following allegations that he sent explicit messages to a teen."

When I looked further into the allegations, I came across statements from various state candidates and officials condemning these allegations. Many have called for Windy boy to resign.

"Today I learned of serious allegations of sexual abuse against Jonathan Windy Boy. I am calling for him to resign his seat in the Montana State Senate," Sam Forstag, Montana U.S. 1st Congressional District candidate said in a post to Facebook, "There is no place for this kind of behavior from our leaders, or anyone. Period."

"His actions should be investigated and he should be held fully accountable, as should anyone accused of sexual misconduct."

Unfortunately, this isn't the first incident of this type of nature for Windy Boy.

Senator Windy Boy's 2017 Sexual Harassment Allegations

Back on March 23, Brian Miller, Congressional Candidate for MT-2 shared a post about Senator Windy Boy's 2017 sexual harassment "matter."

"After reviewing Senator Jonathan Windy Boy's 2017 sexual harassment matter, and his response to it in 2019 when it became public, I decided that this was an important issue that needed to be raised and considered by the public," Miller posted back in March, "If Senator Windy Boy had admitted that he engaged in sexual harassment, accepted a written warning, and taking some sexual harassment training back in 2018, this would not have been an issue in my mind and I would not be raising it."

"But because he so adamantly denied it when it became public, that made me concerned and I believe I have an obligation to bring it up now."

According to the Associate Press, Windy Boy said of those allegations that he believed "federal laws may have been violated and that anything taken from privileged private communications can’t be used as evidence against him."

“It’s my hope that this vilification will not happen again, against anybody on either side of the aisle," AP reported Windy Boy saying in his statement back in 2019 of the 2017 allegations.

"My legal team will advise me further on this matter."

Senator Windy Boy to Drop Out According to Montana Democratic Party Chair

Montana Democratic Party Chair Shannon O'Brien also released a statement according to NBC Montana and various sources:

Jonathan Windy Boy has notified me that he will be dropping out of the race for the 2nd Congressional District. I am deeply troubled to learn about allegations of serious sexual abuse against Mr. Windy Boy. Montana Democrats have made it a point to stand with and fight for survivors - today is no different. We also call on Jonathan Windy Boy to resign his position in the Montana State Senate. I want it to be clear to all Montanans: Democrat or not, Windy Boy should be investigated and held accountable, as should anyone else with allegations of this nature We encourage Montanans to stand with survivors and vote for a different candidate in the June 2 primary.

There is absolutely no place for this type of behavior and hopefully an investigation into these messages will tell the full story so appropriate actions could be taken.

We will keep you updated on this story as we get more updates.
