You know, when it comes to being “scared”, people have all sorts of fears: bugs, heights, snakes, etc.

But, if you’re like me, you’re intimidated by things that are much larger and by things that can, well… rip you to shreds and/or eat you alive.

“Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!”

Thankfully, we don’t have to worry about tigers; we do have lions but not the kind of lions talked about in the song made famous by Wizard of Oz, we have the mountain versions.

And then there’s bears - the symbol of cuddles in the form of the famous “teddy bear.” While cute and cuddly for the little ones, bears can be much more dangerous if messed with in the wild… or if you come across a very hungry one.

Recently, a video showing a massive grizzly bear in Montana is going viral and trust us when we say this creature is MASSIVE.

Some experts believe the bear in the video to be around 800 pounds - yikes!

But, what if we told you a much-larger bear once roamed the Montana landscape?

The Largest Bear Ever Found In Montana

The video of the grizzly above got me wondering: “What is the largest bear ever found in Montana?”

It didn’t long for me to find the answer either as we learned about The Boone and Crockett Club’s largest bear ever caught in the state of Montana which reportedly weighed a staggering 1,102 pounds. That’s over 300 pounds more than the video we saw in the video above… can you IMAGINE?

I don’t know about you but that sounds like the stuff of nightmares. There were some other honorable mentions including a “The Lincoln Grizzly” out of Lincoln, Montana. This bear was also pretty large, weighing around 830 pounds, and standing around 8-feet tall in height.
