This Golden Glizzy Trophy Has Great Falls Buzzing

Hot dogs and the Fourth of July go together like America and cherry pie, am I right? Coming up, people throughout Great Falls will have the chance to celebrate both of those amazing things and possibly, walk away with something to show for that patriotic spirit.

Who is the Glizzy Champ of Great Falls?

In a post shared to Facebook recently, Magpie let everyone know their "World Famous MAGPiE GLIZZY EATING CHAMPIONSHIP" is right around the corner.

"The golden trophy has returned and is looking for a home!!!" Magpie posted to their page. "Immediately following the downtown Fourth of July parade, meet at MAGPiE and cheer on your favorite competitor!!!"

"We are still looking for athletes to compete, so if you or someone you know wants to be the greatest champion of all time, hit us with a DM!!! Get some!!!"

First of all, I love the fact that we're calling the competitors "athletes." Competitive eating is no joke, and I've heard some of the best put themselves through serious training regimens to get ready for events like these.

And second... we have to talk about that trophy.

Great Falls Goes Wild for Magpie Glizzy Trophy

When scrolling down my timeline, I caught a glimpse of Magpie's post of this golden trophy for the soon-to-be 2026 Glizzy Eating Champion. I had to do a double take at first because I had no idea what was being promoted.

Once I read what it was about, I scrolled through the comments and had a good chuckle.

"Did you wash it?" one person wrote.

"Break out the clorox," someone else commented.

And then you have some like one user, questioning the decision behind the trophy.

"Out of all the ones they coulda bought they went with this," that person wrote.

And to that I say: you're damn right they did.

I mean look at that "thang." The craftsmanship, the design... it's even got a pair of shoes.

Imagine winning and being able to rub that big ol' thing in everyone's face. It would be the perfect addition to an office. Think about much respect you would command from the 1:30 appointment that comes in and gets to sit in the presence of this golden glizzy.
