As many folks were in town enjoying Western Art Week, Great Falls Fire Rescue stayed busy tackling multiple fires.

Both fires occurred during the afternoon on Saturday, March 22nd.

1st Weekend Fires In Great Falls

At 3:26 PM on Saturday, March 22nd, Great Falls Fire Rescue received the first call, reporting a home fire on Camel Drive.

Fire engine four arrived at 2736 Camel Dr. shortly after receiving the call and found a fire on the home exterior extending to the roof.

The home's occupants, along with their pets, managed to escape the home uninjured.

Great Falls Fire Rescue was able to extinguish the fire quickly and kept the blaze from entering the home.

According to the report, the northeast corner of the home suffered heavy damage from the fire, and the garage suffered minor damage.

Great Falls Fire Rescue was able to obtain a video of the fire and determined that it started in the occupants' garbage cans.

Shortly after the first fire call, at 4:17 PM, another call came into the 911 Dispatch Center stating that a fire had occurred at 2208 23rd St S, apartment 101.

Upon arrival, the fire crews noticed a bag of groceries sitting on top of the stove in the apartment.

The stove had been left on, and the groceries had caught fire.
