19th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony In Great Falls
For 19 years, the Montana Veterans Memorial has held Memorial Day ceremonies in Great Falls.
Montana Veterans Memorial Day Event
- 1025 25th Street North in Great Falls
- Special Guests: Authors Tony and Janet Seahorn.
- Monday, May 27 at 2 PM at the Montana Veterans Memorial Memorial
Tony and Janet Sehorn are the co-authors of "Tears of a Warrior: A Family Story of Combat and Living with PTSD."
They are scheduled to speak at the Montana Veterans Memorial on Memorial Day.
Tony is a decorated US Army combat veteran who served in Vietnam with the Black Lions of the First Infantry Division. Janice is a professor at Regis University and Colorado State University. She specializes in neuroscience and literacy.
- Book signing at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4669 in the Black Eagle Community Center from 5 to 7 p.m.

- Presentation of the colors - Malmstrom Honor Guard

- Pledge of Allegiance - Local Boy Scouts
- Bagpipe Salute - Jesse Callender
- Blackfeet Nation Warrior Honors - Blackfeet Veterans Honor Guard, Marvin Weatherwax, Sr.
- Armed Forces Medley and You’re a Grand Old Flag - Great Falls Municipal Band
- Benediction - Father Glen Gleaves from the Episcopal Church
- Conclude the ceremony with Taps - Rylan Mauer
Additional Memorial Day Events
After the ceremony, members of the Black nation will bless the newly placed agent monument.
If you are unable to attend, the ceremony will be streamed live on the Montana Veterans Memorial Facebook page and broadcast on 89.9 FM KGPR Great Falls Public Radio.
