Many across our country are fixated on what's going on in Iran right now with some concerned or even frightened that the fight will ever reach our turf.

Unfortunately, two men from Montana are closer to the violence than any of us would ever want to be.

Two Missoula Men Stranded Amidst the Conflict in Iran

According to a post from Blackfoot River Outfitters based out of Missoula, a dear friend of the shop along with another man are stranded in Dubai.

"Stephen Simpson - a friend of the shop and a dad - is stranded in Dubai right now after flights were canceled due to the conflict in the Middle East," the shop said in their post, "He and Andrew Bailey, also of Missoula, continue to see and hear missiles at their hotel in the heart of Dubai."

"He and Andrew are safe, but they need our community to speak up."

According to a report from NBC Montana, the Montana anglers were making their way back home from a trip in East Africa when, during a layover in Dubai they discovered during a layover in Dubai that flights were canceled.

According to reports, the two men have been hearing bombs go off near where they're staying and I can only imagine how horrifying that is.

"I have a 4-year-old daughter and she's just like why isn't daddy home and my 7-year-old knew something was wrong," Simpson told NBC Montana, "He asked his mom 'what's wrong' and she goes 'well daddy's going to be delayed a few days' and he says to her 'what's really going on' and she explained the situation and he asked her 'Is daddy going to die?'"

Montana Officials Are Working to Bring Them Home

U.S Senator Steve Daines told NBC Montana they were actively working to bring the Missoula men home.

"Yes, our office has been in contact with these two Montanans and we are working to bring them home," Senator Daines said, "Our office urges any Montanans in the Middle East to follow guidelines from the State Department."

It's a terrible situation to be in and likely one these two never thought they'd be in. That said, I'm confident that our officials will work as hard as they can to get these men home to their families.
