Montana’s ‘Bar Fairies’ Are Making an Impact Nationwide

If you were to ask a random person what comes to mind when they think of Montana, they might say mountains, Bigfoot, etc.

But now, across the country people are hearing about "fairies" in Montana.

We all know about the tooth fairy, right? A child loses a tooth, they put it under the bed, and the tooth fairy swings by to collect it; but not before leaving a couple of bucks under the pillow - you know the drill.

Well, something similar is happening to adults across Montana but not for the pearly whites. Instead, a "Bar Fairies" across Montana are visiting vehicles left behind in bar parking lots by people who chose to find a sober ride home.

And what are they leaving behind? Gift cards for coffee.

It's all part of an initiative put on by, you guessed it, The Bar Fairies.

The Montana Bar Fairies or Bar Fairies are a group that spreads awareness about the dangers of driving drunk and making responsible choices.

"The Bar Fairies was founded in memory of Bobby Dewbre, who lost his life to a repeat drunk driver," the group's official site says.

"His family turned their grief into action, creating a grassroots movement dedicated to encouraging responsible decisions after a night out, advocating for stricter legislation to strengthen DUI accountability in Montana and across the country, supporting and creating community with grieving families impacted by preventable drunk driving tragedies, building a community of sober curiosity and safe transportation options."

The work of the fairies has been spotted across Montana in towns like Great Falls, Polson, Whitefish, and Kalispell to name a few.

The Bar Fairies Go Viral Nationwide

Now, the Bar Fairies are getting attention nationwide and recognition for their efforts across social media.

Publications like AOL are sharing the story behind the Bar Fairies and on social media, they've had posts reach over a million views.
