Montana law enforcement recently shared the success of a major operation involving multiple agencies which resulted in a shutdown of a major sex trafficking and drug ring in Billings.

Operation Vigilant Specter 6 in Billings, MT

According to a post shared on Facebook, Billings police announced the success of a "collaborative investigation initiative" that brought down an evil crime ring that included drugs and trafficking children.

"The operation was carried out over a 48-hour period and involved approximately 65 personnel representing 13 federal, state, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies," the press release said.

"As a result of this operation, five felony arrests were made related to human trafficking offenses, and two felony arrests were made for child sexual abuse, Investigators also seized methamphetamine, mobile devices, U.S. currency, and additional evidence associated with the targeted criminal activity."

The Operation Will Lead To More Arrests

It didn't stop there either. In the press release, authorities also shared the crackdown led them to 17 other individuals and IP addresses that are being investigated for child sexual abuse and human trafficking offenses.

A lot of the time, we hear about cases like these, but we don't often hear about those who were involved as recipients of whatever disgusting material these criminals were selling or giving them. Kudos to law enforcement for leaving no stone unturned in this case.

"The success of Operation Vigilant Specter 6 reflects the strong partnership, coordination, and professionalism of all participating agencies and personnel committed to protecting vulnerable, victims and holding offenders accountable."
