There are a lot of things to remember when the winter temperatures arrive in Montana. From winterizing your vehicle to blowing out your sprinkler system, checking that list annually can become a monotonous task and cause us to forget the little things.

You know, like leaving things in the yard... or the garage.

Is Montana In For A Brutal Winter?

We've received some "sample weather" from Old Man Winter not that long ago with temperatures dipping below zero.

While it looks like we're going to have highs near the 50s over the next couple of days, colder temperatures are on the way and there's no telling how long that can last. But we've been pretty spoiled with the recent weather so the incoming cold shouldn't surprise anyone... it was bound to happen.

Pretty soon, it'll be time to drip our faucets, place salts on the driveway and walkways, and getting some of our forgotten electronics and other items out of the garage, into the house. Then I got to wondering... is there anything else I need to remove from the garage?

Don't worry - I'm not here to tell you to spend this weekend cleaning out your garage. But you should definitely go through there and look for the most valuable items (or hazardous items) you have in your garage.

For example, if you're storing your wooden instruments in the garage, you might want to get it out of there ASAP or at least before temperatures plunge below zero again.
