If You Bought This Peanut Butter in Montana, Beware… It Contains Plastic
Another important recall was just announced, and this one is too important to pass up as it's one of America's most popular food items: peanut butter.
Whether you're a kiddo who enjoys peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or a weightlifter who needs an easy calorie-packed snack, here's what you need to know about this major recall on peanut butter.
FDA Issues Major Recall on Peanut Butter
The FDA has issued a major recall on peanut butter sold in 40 states across America, including Montana.
According to the recall's enforcement report, the Ventura Foods is recalling multiple peanut butter products due to "foreign material." The report says that "during production, the firm found pieces of blue plastic in a filter."
The products being recalled include:
- Creamy Peanut Butter Net Wt. 0.5/0.75/1.12 Oz (21g)
- Creamy Peanut Butter Net Wt. 1.12 Oz (32g)/Grape Jelly Net Wt. 1 Oz (28g) POCO PAC (2.12 oz)
- Creamy Peanut Butter Net Wt. 1.12 Oz (32g)/Strawberry Jam Net Wt. 1 Oz(28g) (2.12 oz)
Obviously, it should go without saying that consuming bits of plastic is a terrible idea but then again, there's a reason why they put labels on paint cans reminding people to not consume paint.
