No state is immune to drugs and the horrible impacts they have on families and communities.
Over the years, Montana has seen a staggering uptick in drug use, which makes you wonder how the Treasure State compares to other states in the nation.

Although numerous drugs find their way into Montana, fentanyl has been the big talking point over the last few years.
For quite some time, fentanyl seizures were on the rise here in the Treasure State, but according to a recent report from the Montana Attorney General's office, a slight downturn was reported.
However, as fentanyl numbers drop slightly, other numbers increased, and overall drug-related arrests also increased.

How Does Montana's Drug Use Compare To Other States?
Despite the concerning drug numbers here in Montana, thankfully, we're not in the top 10 in terms of states that have the worst drug issues.
However, the numbers aren't ideal either.

The financial website WalletHub dug into the numbers across the nation and broke down which states have the worst drug use.
Overall, the state of Montana is ranked it 22nd in the nation.
New Mexico, West Virginia, and Nevada reportedly have the most drug use in all of the United States.
I was a little bit, surprised to see where these states ranked, in my mind I would've thought they would have been a little bit lower on the list.
