
MT Hunting Application Deadline Quickly Approaching
All fishing and hunting licenses in Montana expire at the end of February.
And the deadline to apply for special hunting permits for deer elk is quickly approaching!
Montana Hunting Application Information
Hunting and fishing licenses can easily be purchased directly through the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks website.
To help navigate the process of applying for a new hunting permit, FWP does offer several tools on their site.
They have also created instructional videos to help you out further.
If mobile apps are more your thing, you can also hold and display licenses through the ETag feature on the my FWP mobile app.

Montana Hunting Application Deadline
The date you need to keep in the back of your mind is April 1st.
This is the deadline to put in for any special elk or deer permits.

- B Licenses – June 1
- Nonresident combination licenses – April 1
- Bighorn Sheep – May 1
- Bison – May 1
- Moose – May 1
- Mountain Goat –May 1
- Antelope – June 1
- SuperTags-
- Antelope, Bighorn Sheep, Bison, Deer, Elk, Moose, Mountain Goat, and Mountain Lion – June 30
- Mountain Lion Special Licenses – Aug 1
Hunting and Fishing License Help
If you need additional help most FWP offices are open from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.
The licensing center is open from 7 AM to 7 PM through April 1st.
