It's no secret that Montana is an epic place to live, but traveling outside the state can be challenging due to the lack of flight options.

Most major cities here in Montana have a larger airport, but the flight options are generally limited.

Bozeman has undoubtedly been the hotspot for airport growth by adding new flights to their lineup.

Well, friends, there's good news regarding flights in the Treasure State!

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) recently confirmed that SkyWest Airlines will provide additional flights out of Montana.

Skywest Flights In Montana

SkyWest Airlines will be adding 13 weekly round-trip flights from Montana.

These flights will be between Butte Bert Mooney Airport to Denver International Airport, and Salt Lake City International Airport.

These additional flights are part of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Essential Air Service Program.

This program aims to guarantee that smaller and rural communities maintain essential air service.

Two 50-seat aircraft will be used for the additional flights, and the service period will span three years, from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2027.

The Cost Of Adding New Flights

To add the additional flights out of Butte, Montana, there is an annual subsidy of $6,354,635 in the first year, $6,799,459 in the second year, and $7,275,421 in the final year.

The subsidy is part of the EAS program, ensuring smaller airports like Butte receive necessary air travel services.
