Who is Jordan and why is he raising pumpkins?  Jordan is a young man living in North Central Montana that has been on life’s journey.  As we all know, journeys require many helping hands to complete.  Jordan is no different as he has felt the support throughout his life dealing with challenges along the way. Jordan alongside his mom and dad, Jean & Phil have started a non-profit organization called Pumpkins for a cause. It says it best on their Facebook page, “A young man's efforts to give back to his community by hosting an annual pumpkin patch supporting local non-profit organizations.”

October 1st is the date of this year’s fundraiser.  It will be held at the Schroeder Farm at 87 Meridian Lane in Vaughn.  The happening runs from 1-4 pm and will include a hayride as well as a chance to pick pumpkins.  This is the 8th year that Jordan and his family have hosted the event.  This year’s benefactor is Alliance for Youth, a non-profit organization supporting the prevention and reduction of underage drinking and illegal drug use, abuse and dependency. Back in 2020 Jordan and his family raised $8500 for the Great Falls Rescue Mission and last year it was $12,000 for Great Falls Peace Place.  100% of the funds raised will be giving to the benefactor.  Last year’s pumpkin patch gathering had over 80 volunteers and 700 participants. October 1st is the perfect time to pick a pumpkin with Halloween right around the corner, and to do it while helping a great kid and a great organization is a double winner.
