Police in Shelby are investigating a shocking shooting incident that took place early on Thursday morning.

And when you hear how this whole thing ended, you'll probably be left asking yourself the same question I am: "How?!"

Sheriff's Office Investigate Morning Shooting in Shelby

According to a report shared by Toole County Sheriff's Office/Dispatch Center, they received a 911 call from an "adult female" at a home in Shelby.

And here's where I'm shook: she called to let them know she "sustained a gunshot wound to the head and requested medical assistance."

I'm sorry... WHAT?

First responders obviously showed up and did their thing, but I can't imagine the scene they walked into. They reported that the female was taken to a nearby hospital where she received medical treatment.

I didn't see any reports regarding the extent of her injuries but shot in the head and then being able to call to ask for help? That has to be a miracle.

Law enforcement did add that they took an "adult male" into custody and stuck around the area of Mineral Street and Cascade Avenue to conduct their investigation.

How Is Someone Able to Function After a Gunshot to the Head

Officials let everyone know there was no threat to the public so that's good news.

There are a few questions left to be answered including how the incident started, why she was shot, and of course, how in the world was she able to make that phone call? Thankfully, it sounds like she'll be okay!
