26-year-old Erin Holcomb was sentenced to 60-years in the Montana State Prison for the murder of a Fairfield man last May.

Erin Holcomb received the sentence Monday in a Teton County Courtroom. Holcomb was found guilty of shooting 22-year-old Trysten Fellers after a night of drinking in a field next to Fellers' Fairfield home.

Police say Fellers was attempting to stop Holcomb from driving home drunk. That's when Holcomb pulled out a gun and shot Fellers. Holcomb was facing life without parole.

Earlier this month Judge Robert Olsen denied a request for a new trial.
