The First Round Tariff Refund Payments Are Coming to Montana
Back on April 22nd, I shared a story with you about how Montana businesses can get some financial relief from the federal government for costs incurred by President Trump's tariffs.
If you were diligent and applied in time, you could have the money in your hand sooner than later.
Montana Companies Set to Receive Tariff Refund Payments
In case you missed it, tariff refund payments were announced as a result of the Supreme Court’s decision to rule against Trump's tariffs placed “under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA)” according to the US Congress.
As a result, Montana agriculture suppliers, construction companies, and local retailers all affected by the tariffs were given the opportunity to recover money from the tariffs.

According to the information we last shared with you in April, data revealed an estimated $958 million in tariff revenue was made up of ag-related products/inputs. Of that, “$530 million came from farm machinery, $273 million came from agricultural chemicals, $110 million came from fertilizers and $44 million came from seeds.”
Now, these Montana companies could be receiving their money as early as next week.
When Are Tariff Refund Checks Coming?
According to Reuters, the refund process could help businesses recover an estimated total of around $166 billion "paid by more than 330,000 importers on roughly 53 million entries."
Reuters reports that an order filed on Tuesday in the U.S. Court of International Trade revealed the first tariff refunds should arrive by May 11.
