Being healthy in 2025 can be quite the task, right? We see things on the shelves that are advertised as healthy before scrolling through social media and seeing a post about how unhealthy that very product is.
It's crazy but it happens. We have to be very careful with our health and Montana's leading cause of death proves that.
The Leading Causes Of Death In Montana
Many things in can put our lives at risk, and someone wouldn't be wrong to assume that Montana's leading cause of death would be related to the great outdoors. You know, something like bears. Shoot, I even shared an article about the type of firearm you would need to stand a chance in the event bear spray failed.
On the other hand, some might think that the leading cause of death could be related to the alcohol or drugs - an argument could be made that they contribute to the leading cause of death but they're not the official leading causes.

According to the CDC, the leading causes of death in Montana are both heart disease and cancer, which have been major issues for Montanans since 1999.
In 2022, 48% of deaths in Montana were attributed to heart disease, cancer, and even accidents. When you break those three down, 22% of those deaths were from heart disease, 19% of those deaths were from cancer, and 7% were accident related according to USA Facts.
Combating Heart Disease & Cancer in Montana
Thankfully, there is something we can do to prevent heart disease and cancer. Experts often recommend getting regular exercise, maintaining a healthy diet, and, of course, avoiding all forms of tobacco, including vaping.
