I'm unsure where Summer went, but needless to say, fall is knocking at our doorstep, and hunting season is officially underway here in the Treasure State.

The governor's office has announced its third annual Governor's Youth Hunting Story Contest, which aims to help Montana's youth become more involved with the outdoors.

“Over the last two years, we’ve been inspired by the incredible stories from young hunters across Montana in our Youth Hunting Story Contest,” the governor stated.

The contest allows young hunters to share their experiences and stories for a chance at some great prizes.

I'm betting some pretty good stories will come out of this year's hunting season.

I can vividly recall a few good ones from when I was growing up.

Get Planting: 10 Deer Resistant Flowers & Plants

We plant, and the deer eat. Not that we mind seeing the adorable four-legged friends making their way around our yards, but when they turn our hard work into their private banquet, that's a different thing. Planting these flowers & plants may keep Bambi and the gang away from your flower beds and gardens.
