With spring just around the corner, Montanans are itching to get outside and start enjoying the nicer weather.

The Ice Breaker Road Race is one of the most popular spring events in Great Falls.

The 45th annual Ice Breaker Road Race is just around the corner and scheduled for Sunday, April 27th.

This popular event is tailored for runners of all ages and abilities.

From downtown Great Falls to the River's Edge Trail, this race promises to provide the perfect scenic backdrop to kick off spring here in Central Montana.

Ice Breaker Registration and Details

Race packets can be picked up at the Great Falls Civic Center on Saturday, April 26th, from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Race packets may also be picked up on Sunday at 9 AM.

The first race will start at 9 AM, Sunday, April 27th.

Three road race options to choose from.

  • 5 miles
  • 3 miles
  • 1 mile

All registered runners will receive a commemorative race T-shirt, and a finisher's medal.

Your entry fee will also include a post-race refreshment station provided by Pepsi.

The top performers in each category will win cash prizes, or gift certificates, courtesy of Scheels of Great Falls.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you would like to help at the annual Ice Breaker Road Race, numerous volunteer positions are available.

Volunteers will also receive a race T-shirt and goodie bag.
