To help combat this issue, a Great Falls school is launching an innovative state-of-the-art book vending machine in hopes of sparking some excitement among students.

I'll be honest: something like this would've been pretty cool when I was a kid!

Book Blast Off

Sacajawea Elementary School in Great Falls unveiled the book vending machine on Wednesday, February 12th, 2025.

The kids can't wait to dive into the world of books with this new vending machine. It's more than just a way to snag a new read—it's about nurturing a lifelong love for learning, Said principal Ty Moore

A token system operates the machine.

As part of the grand opening of the vending machine, each student received a token granting them access to the new book dispenser.

Students will be rewarded with more tokens for positive behavior and academic achievements and will also receive a token on their birthday.

The goal of the initiative is to boost literacy rates in the school and foster independent reading habits among students.

Sacajawea Elementary School in Great Falls has joined in on a nationwide movement that has been proven to elevate literacy rates and foster curiosity among young readers.
