With Easter quickly approaching, families are undoubtedly dying Easter eggs in preparation for the holiday.

Egg prices may hamper some of the dying this year, but nonetheless here are a few tips and tricks to make sure that your eggs look epic this season.

These tricks are sure to impress your friends and family; however, the only downside is that it will make cracking open those eggs to eat much more difficult.

History Of Easter Eggs

  • The practice of decorating Easter eggs predates Christianity. Ancient Persia, Europe, and even Mesopotamia began decorating eggs as part of spring festivals. This was often a symbol of new life and fertility.
  • Christians later adopted the Easter egg as a symbol of Jesus's resurrection and rebirth. In the Middle Ages, egg-dying became part of an Easter tradition across Europe.
  • An Orthodox Christian tradition was to dye eggs red to represent the blood of Christ and the joy of resurrection.
  • Egg dying became more popular in the late 1800s when various companies began selling egg kits.
