Earlier today, I had a chance to catch up with Governor Gianforte ahead of America's birthday weekend. We had a few things to discuss on the agenda, but the governor had something he had to get off his chest before anything.

Governor Gianforte Shares a 4th of July Message with Montana

After greeting one another by phone and wishing America happy birthday, Gov. Gianforte got things going by kicking our convo off with a message for the people of Montana ahead of the Fourth of July.

"Chris, if it's OK, I have a message for Montanans, if you don't mind me for the Fourth that I'd like to deliver, because I think it's important," Governor Gianforte said.

"Go ahead!" I replied. Shoot. This is the governor we're talking about, right?

"This 4th of July, Montanans all over are going to gather with family and friends and neighbors at barbecues and parades, rodeos, firework shows to celebrate our 250th birthday of the greatest country on the planet. And just as we celebrate, we should all remember the truth of our founders, that they recognize that our rights are not granted by government, but they're given to us by our creator. These rights include the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

For 250 years, America has endured disagreements. We've had a civil war. We've had global conflicts. We've had changing economic things. But because generations of Americans believed in this country was worth preserving, we have the country we have today.

There's no other place on the planet where you have this kind of opportunity. And we must always give thanks to the men and women who fought and bled in defense of our nation, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms we enjoy today. So, I just would encourage Montanans to celebrate America's birthday and thank God for the freedom that we enjoy.

Get involved in your communities and in government and keep America exceptional for another 250 years."

I mean, I couldn't have said it any better myself!

Remember to celebrate responsibly and as the governor emphasized, savor and enjoy the freedoms many of us take for granted every single day.
