Shots Fired Lead Great Falls Police on A Foot Chase
There is something to be said about a person who is willing to clock in for their job not knowing if they're going to make it through a shift unharmed or even go home to their families. These people are our first responders and boy, have they been busy lately.
Over the weekend, Great Falls police experienced another situation that could have turned out deadly had it not been for their quick thinking.
Officers Respond to Shots Fired
Over the weekend, Great Falls police officers shared they responded to "multiple reports" of a disturbance involving shots fired at the 800 block of 1st Ave. N. around 3:22 AM on Sunday Morning.
"When officers arrived, a person ran away from the scene, causing officers to suspect the person was involved and engage in a short foot pursuit," police shared in the update, "With that person in custody, officers recognized the original disturbance had dispersed prior to their arrival."

"Officers inspected the area and found evidence a gun had likely been fired recently."
I wouldn't expect officers to toot their own horn about catching a suspect in a foot chase, but I mean come on, that's pretty awesome and even better, no one got seriously hurt during the chase.
Unfortunately, not everyone came out of the incident unscathed.
"As officers secured the scene and interviewed witnesses, they learned a person called 911 to report a family member arrived home with a gunshot wound," police said, "The victim was taken to the emergency department with non-life-threatening injuries."

Thankfully, it appears this was an isolated incident and none of us should be worried about the suspect going forward.
Police say they'll continue to investigate this incident.
