Semi-Truck Strikes Highway Worker, Montana Highway Patrol Searching for Driver

Montana Highway Patrol are calling on the public once again following another reported hit-and-run incident. This comes after authorities asked the public about a fatal hit-and-run involving a pick-up truck.

This time, the collision involves a much larger (and more dangerous) vehicle.

Montana Highway Patrol is Looking for Answers

In a post shared to Facebook on Tuesday afternoon, the Montana Highway Patrol announced a hit-and-run incident that took place on Highway 200.

"The Montana Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help identifying the driver of a semi-truck involved in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a highway construction worker," the Montana Highway Patrol posted, "The semi traveled through the roundabout at approximately 5:18 a.m. before striking the worker around 6:25 a.m. on Highway 200 near Flowing Wells Road."

"The truck continued westbound on Highway 200 without stopping."

I can't imagine the horror and pain the worker is experiencing. How sad is it that the driver didn't bother stopping?

I'm not a semi-truck driver and have never driven one; all I know is that they're large. Is it remotely possible the driver didn't "feel" anything or see it at all? I'm not even saying that that's an excuse... but surely, there's a logical explanation as to why the driver didn't stop right? Or did they not stop on purpose?

Montana Highway Patrol Release Semi-Truck Description

According to authorities, the description of the semi-truck is as follows:

• Gray semi-truck with a silver grille guard
• Yellow oversized load
• Black mud flaps with a red circle logo and white “Dorsen” lettering
• Oversize load banner tied together in the middle
• White trailer plate
• No front license plate; paper temporary tag displayed in the windshield
