Housing has been a hot topic in the Electric City for quite some time now.

Limited inventory and lack of options have led to a significant price hike over the last few years, and many folks have struggled to find their forever home.

With that said, what do you feel would be the ideal housing options for Great Falls?

Housing In Great Falls, Montana

Even though the population of Great Falls has remained relatively stable for quite some time, many people struggle to find a home within their price range.

While other communities have expanded and increased their footprint, Great Falls has struggled in this area.

The city recently asked for public input on its upcoming growth policy, and many of the questions on that survey revolved around housing.

Despite Great Falls' lack of significant population growth, housing remains a major issue in the community.

So, what is the fix?

Housing Options For Great Falls

I'm not sure that there's a correct answer to this question, and likely a variety of housing options would be the most ideal for our community.

Whether it be single-family, multifamily, or even tiny homes, all would be potential options for our community.

There has been a ton of talk around multifamily and even tiny homes, but personally, I think that single-family homes are the main thing missing from our community, and this should be the focus of leaders in Electric City.

With upgrades planned at Malmstrom Air Force Base and numerous families moving to town for medical jobs, a single-family home will remain a hot commodity over the next few years.

We've already seen staggering prices with single-family homes, and in theory, adding to the inventory in this category should help to level out the prices a bit.

But what do you think would be the best solution for housing here in Great Falls?
