After almost a full month of students being back at school, I am hopeful that all of them have found a rhythm to their day and activities to keep occupied. But for those kids or families (that includes you Mom and Dad) that haven't, there is a way to help get into a groove for the year.
In Great Falls, the local chapter of the Salvation Army is lending a hand to students in public, private and home schools to gather several days a week and enjoy a multitude of different activities and programs for the new school year.

Across Great Falls, Cascade County, Montana and more, the Salvation Army offers different services for those in need. Many of us are familiar with the annual tradition of bell ringers across the Electric City.

But they also offer needed services year-round including:
- Disaster Services
- Housing and Food Services
- Social Services and Programs
- Great Falls Sports Leagues
Now, the Salvation Army in the city is hoping to help students that would like to join together after school for activities, crafts, or even homework help.
Learn More About the Salvation Army After School Program in Great Falls
The program is open to all students during the 2025-26 school year. The low-fee program runs Monday thru Thursday from 3:20pm to 5:30pm each day. For kids attending, they'll find opportunities such as:
- Homework Help
- STEM activities
- Arts and Crafts
- Snacks
- Recreational Activity
- Life Skills
- Academic Enrichment
- Performing Arts
The Salvation Army location at 1000 17th Avenue South will be hosting the after-school activities. Pickup is available at Sunnyside and Lincoln Elementary Schools also.
