Help from the Bissel Pet Foundation Helps the Great Falls Animal Shelter
Each year the Bissel Pet Foundation sponsors the "Empty the Shelters National Adoption Event" across the United States in 40 different states. To help encourage adoptions, the foundation helps with reduced adoption fees.

The Great Falls Animal Shelter has been selected to participate in the event again this year between July 7 and July 19, 2025. The shelter will offer pet adoptions at the following rates during that time:
- $70 for dog adoptions
- $50 for cat adoptions

The Great Falls Animal Shelter is the municipal shelter within the city and their mission is a simple one:
to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the domesticated animals and citizens of our community through education about responsible pet ownership
