Montana State Head Coach Receives Coaching Offer: Will He Stay?

UPDATE:  Coach Logie will be staying at Montana State University after releasing the following statement on social media:

“Home is where the (heart) is. Job’s not finished. Circle the Wagons Bobcats! The Best is YET to come!”

It seems the folks in the state of Washington have a thing for current and former MSU Basketball coaches.

It was announced recently that former MSU Head Basketball Coach and Bobcat great Danny Sprinkle is now the Head Coach of the University of Washington, and according to one report, another Washington University is looking to make a move with the current MSU Basketball Head Coach.

The Bobcat Men's Basketball team won the Big Sky Conference Tournament this year and went on to the NCAA Tournament. It's the 3rd year in a row that the Cats made it to the Big Dance and the first time in over 40 years that a Big Sky team has accomplished that feat.

There was a report yesterday that Matt Logie has been offered the job at Washington State University after their former coach left for Stanford. Logie, a Washington state native just finished his first year at MSU.

The website My Northwest is reporting the offer was made and according to one source, Logie is "mulling" over the offer. The article states the following:

“Logie is mulling the offer and is undecided/torn because Montana State has put an extension on the table—with a big pay bump.”

Logie is one of only 2 coaches to make the tournaments in Divisions 1,2, and 3 and is originally from Mercer Island in Washington. Washington State had a record of 25 and 10 this past season, making it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Iowa State.

The Cats had a rollercoaster season before they went on an incredible run in the Big Sky Conference Tournament beating the Griz in the Championship Game before falling to Grambling State in overtime in Dayton, Ohio.
