We're closing in on mid-term election day, Tuesday, November 8. I thought I'd pass along some answers to frequently asked questions regarding voting, courtesy of Montana Women Vote, but can be used by Montana men, as well.

How do I know if I'm already registered to vote?

Can I register to vote online?

Yes.  Click here

Can I still register at the polls?

Yes, this year we can still register at the polls, but this may change by next year, if the current people in charge have their way.

Can I have someone help me to vote?

Yes.  You can bring someone to help, you can bring notes, a voter guide or whatever you need.  YOU must be the one to sign your ballot.

Can I skip some items on the ballot?

Yes.  You can choose what to vote for and you can skip something if you'd rather not cast your vote.

What time are polls open on election day?

Polls in Montana are open 7 am to 8 pm election day for voting in person. If you haven't mailed or dropped off your absentee ballot by election day, you can drop it off in person by 8 pm.

What ID can I use at the polls?

You can use any of the following:  Driver's license, tribal ID, student ID, voter registration card, a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck stub, government check, any government document that shows your name and address.
